Pros

  • Includes a wide library of effects, loops and samples.
  • Effects offer a range of possibilities for sound, especially reverb.
  • Cost is inexpensive compared to similar recording and effects sound engineering programs.

Cons

  • For users without experience using recording and sound editing programs, mastering the software will take time.
  • The MAGIX Music Maker Production Suite is only available for Windows operating systems, so users of other systems cannot use the software.

MAGIX Music Maker Production Suite software allows musicians and audio engineers to record, mix and master songs using their home PCs. DJs, producers and beat makers can also use MAGIX to create and alter tracks. The MAGIX Music Maker Production Suite is available for PCs running the latest Windows operating systems.

Like most other music producing and engineering software, MAGIX offers the ability to add effects to existing tracks as well as offering you the ability to add drum and percussion loops and virtual instruments to your tracks. For the studio musician, this software gives you the capability to record yourself and add in what you need to create the sound you want. Singer-songwriters, for example, can record vocals and add in percussion and accompaniment instruments as well as effects like delay, reverb, chorus and others to enhance their vocals.

DJs, beat makers and recording engineers can import already recorded tracks and add additional instruments and effects, thereby creating mastered tracks for the creation of an album or a set list to play live. The MAGIX Production Suite also comes with a sample library, allowing you to add unique samples to your mix, and VariVerb Pro, which gives you the ability to create a multiplicity of reverb effects so you get exactly the effect you desire.

The MAGIX Production Suite does take some time to master for the newbie. Unless you have some experience with musical effects pedals, processors or mixers or experience with audio engineering software, do not expect to understand how to make recordings right away. You will definitely need to read the manual, watch some tutorials, and practice using the software suite before you can create something to be proud of. However, for those with experience using analog mixers and effects, MAGIX software is easy to use and works just like analog devices would.

Still, for those with some experience, or for those with the patience to learn to use the MAGIX Music Maker Production Suite for Windows, the cost is definitely worth the value. Not only does the suite include 10, 000 effects for the production of both sound and video, but it also includes a sample library boasting 12 GB and over 10, 000 loops as well.

If you are downloading the MAGIX Music Maker Production Suite, you should have at least 4 GB of free disk space and run Windows XP, 2000, 2003, or Windows Vista, 7 or 8. The suite is also available in both English and Spanish, and a stripped-down version called MAGIX Music Maker MX Premium is available at a lower price.
